Post NeoCon Q+A with our Vice President of Sales, Adam Kocher
What were some of the major trends that were evident at neocon this year?
Some of the major trends we saw were solutions for space division and collaboration without conventional construction: such as pods or architectural features with a post and beam look. Mobile power solution options seem to be in abundance. Agility also seemed to be a major trend.
What are your thoughts on the Steelcase Flex + Roam?
I think these solutions could be well utilized by many different team members and departments throughout our company and with our clients, all in a space that supports collaboration.
Was there a standout product(s) from other showrooms that you liked?
The OFS post/beam like product, OFS booth, West Elm bench and office, West Elm lounge seating, living walls, and video walls were some of my favorite things this year at NeoCon.
What space or product from which manufacturer showroom would you like to see adapted in our own Work Studio?
Long dining room tables such as the one with an eclectic seating mix in an open cafe-like setting, seating bench and circular table in meeting and conference room shown at Steelcase. Specifically, the products from West Elm or Orange Box. Orange Box has an enclosed booth setting with a table that would be ideal.
What product are you most excited to tell your clients about and why?
I really think my clients would most benefit from Flex, Surface Hubs, West Elm, and new OFS products.
Outdoor spaces and products were also big this year – why do you feel this is a growing trend in the workplace?
I think outdoor environments are typically overlooked or not prioritized. That’s an opportunity to do something different and create new destinations to work.
