Creating a Workplace of the Future
LOTH partnered with Paychex to create a future-focused Dallas workplace. The result is an engaging environment that supports collaboration, employee connection and helps attract top talent.

Challenge
Paychex had outgrown its existing Dallas location. The current space also lacked the qualities of a destination workplace and did not provide adequate space to support regional training needs. Additionally, the existing technology infrastructure was outdated.

Vision
The Paychex team was tasked with creating a “Workplace of the Future” for its new Dallas location. They envisioned an environment designed to attract and retain top talent, providing a space that fosters collaboration, innovation and flexibility to accommodate the diverse work styles of the employee base. As the digitally driven HR Leader, the new workplace needed to make a lasting impression while authentically reflecting the Paychex brand and culture. The design focused on fostering community and culture, creating a workplace that encourages employees to be fully present and engaged.

Collaboration
The LOTH team further developed the design vision established by Entos Design, the lead architecture & design firm and the Paychex Design team, through a thoughtfully curated furniture package. With project teams distributed across Rochester, Cincinnati and Dallas, collaboration and communication were essential to the success of the project. Paychex, headquartered in Rochester, partnered closely with LOTH Cincinnati, while the project site was located in Dallas through weekly coordination calls and in-person working sessions. LOTH provided comprehensive support throughout the specification and procurement process, assisting with the selection and ordering of 1000 furniture items.

Result
The new office offers employees the flexibility to select work areas that best enhance their productivity while incorporating modern technology, community, and culture throughout the space. The spaces feature areas, such as the Hub Cafe and gaming that facilitate large team events and town halls. The open and enclosed collaboration spaces, focus rooms and phone booths cater to a variety of work needs. These elements are unified through an enhanced color palette, elevated finishes, and local graphics, creating a new Paychex workplace.
“This project would not have been successful without the strong partnerships developed between the lead architect, LOTH, and the general contractor, who all supported the vision for this new office space. Consistent collaboration and communication were essential given that the teams needed to work together virtually. One of the largest features of this new space is the furniture package, which includes a vast array of furniture types and specifications. LOTH was an instrumental partner in introducing the new furniture solutions and ideas, managing the order process and vendors, and overseeing the installation in a seamless manner. We are incredibly grateful for the LOTH team.”
