LOTH collaborated with Steelcase and Gensler to transform the 84.51° Cincinnati Headquarters into a modern, flexible workplace that reflects the company’s data-driven culture and future-focused mindset. This comprehensive office design project showcases thoughtful open layouts, dynamic furniture solutions, and strategically configured activity-based work zones that support collaboration, creativity, and employee engagement.
Challenge
The primary challenge was to replace traditional offices with a fully open workspace that still supports focus, teamwork, and flexibility. The space needed to reflect 84.51°’s innovative brand identity while accommodating more than 800 employees. In addition, the design had to facilitate smooth transitions between individual focus, collaboration, and informal interaction.
Vision
The goal was to create a forward-thinking workplace that empowers a variety of work styles, from concentrated focus to spontaneous collaboration. To achieve this, the design team used open layouts, flexible zones, and adaptive office furniture planning. Together with Gensler, LOTH and Steelcase envisioned a workplace filled with natural light, shared spaces, and purposeful design solutions that reflect the company’s commitment to innovation.
Collaboration
To ensure alignment with 84.51°’s culture and functional needs, the team hosted immersive workshops in Cincinnati and London. These sessions employed mockup installations and real-world workspace scenarios to help employees understand and engage with the new design approach. Meanwhile, the team leveraged CET 3D rendering software for real-time space planning updates. This approach improved design accuracy, minimized friction, and ensured that every workspace supported the client’s objectives.
Result
The finalized 84.51° Cincinnati Headquarters workplace design sets a new regional standard for modern, collaborative offices. The project features bright, flexible office furniture solutions and strategically zoned spaces that encourage connection and productivity. Activity-based work areas support varied work modes, while open sightlines and shared zones promote interaction and internal communication. The result is a vibrant, efficient, and future-ready corporate office space that embodies 84.51°’s innovative spirit.
