Challenge
Bethany School needed learning environments that could support a growing emphasis on collaborative work while still providing spaces for focus and age-appropriate learning. Additionally, the school sought to use its physical spaces as a tool for brand expression and community building. The environments were designed to help attract and retain both students and faculty.

Vision
Bethany School envisioned impressive yet highly functional spaces that enhanced collaboration, supported multiple learning styles, and reflected the school’s culture. Furthermore, the goal was to create cohesive environments that balanced flexibility, comfort, and visual identity across shared and instructional spaces. These spaces would serve a diverse K–8 population.

Collaboration
LOTH partnered closely with Emersion Design to develop solutions that met both functional and aesthetic goals. Through thoughtful material selection, color concepts inspired by sky and grass, and carefully specified products, the teams delivered cohesive designs throughout the building. In addition, special attention was given to furniture selection and custom library shelving. They collaborated with Maverick Desk to create both mobile and fixed solutions that served students of all ages.

Result
The completed spaces support increased collaboration while maintaining areas for focused work and shared amenities. The design strengthened Bethany School’s brand identity through intentional use of color, materials, and furnishings. It created environments that reflect the school’s values. Notably, the success of the 2019 project led Bethany School to select LOTH again for the Bethlehem building installation in 2020. This reinforced a trusted long-term partnership.
