Challenge

Hamilton County Education Service Center faced growing workplace constraints driven by real estate compression, limited collaboration space, and a desire to improve overall employee wellbeing. The organization also needed to thoughtfully transition team members from long-standing private offices into shared, smaller workstations—requiring both strategic planning and effective change management.

Vision

The vision was to create a functional, people-centered workplace that enhanced collaboration, supported professional development, and strengthened organizational culture. By prioritizing shared spaces, flexible workstations, and technology-enabled meeting areas, the goal was to design an environment that aligned with modern ways of working.

Collaboration

Early engagement at the LOTH Work Studio allowed the ESC team to align closely with LOTH designers on project aesthetics and workplace strategy. LOTH collaborated with SHP and Mark Spaulding Construction to deliver a customized renovation solution, while also guiding leadership through change management planning to support a smooth transition for staff.

Result

The renovated space features a large café, expanded collaboration rooms, and a dedicated conferencing area designed for professional development and training. A blended Steelcase benching and cubicle solution provides the right balance of functionality and privacy based on job roles. With added move and storage services, LOTH delivered a seamless, one-stop project experience that improved space efficiency, collaboration, and workplace wellbeing.
