Sustainability in Digital Component Construction
Almost half of the waste in North American Landfills is from construction sites. Falkbuilt’s Digital Component Construction dramatically reduces waste every step of the process and virtually eliminates waste on the jobsite.
There’s a More Sustainable Way to Build Interiors
Prefabricated interior construction brings speed, flexibility, and precision into how interiors are built. With Digital Component Construction, components are precision cut off site where waste can be properly managed and almost everything that arrives to the job site can be recycled.
By moving critical components off-site and into a controlled environment, you can:
- Use fewer materials
- Reduce freight and emissions
- Eliminate waste onsite
- Utilize recyclable materials

Earn LEED v4 Points with Digital Component Construction
Digital Component Construction can help earn LEED v4 credit across Materials & Resources and Indoor Environmental Quality through EPD-backed materials, near-zero jobsite waste, and superior acoustic and daylighting performance.

Support WELL v2 Certification with Digital Component Construction
From cleaner indoor air and easy-to-sanitize surfaces to acoustic comfort, daylighting, and virtually zero construction waste, Falkbuilt’s components are built to help your space meet WELL v2 preconditions and earn points.

Digital Component Construction FAQs
Answers to common questions about the materials and certifications behind LOTH’s interior construction products.
Do LOTH’s interior construction products support LEED, WELL, or other green building certifications?
Yes. When used as part of an overall building strategy, many of our products can contribute toward LEED, WELL, and other sustainability certifications.
Are the solid wall and glass wall systems independently verified for environmental impact?
Yes. Our McNally solid wall and Kai + Lydia glass wall systems each hold third-party verified, product-specific Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
What is the cladding made of, and is it formaldehyde-free?
Our cladding panels use MDF as their base material. The MDF carries an EPD through the Composite Panel Association, is SCS Recycled Content Certified with a minimum of 92% pre-consumer recycled wood content, and is NAF (no added formaldehyde) — meeting EPA TSCA Title VI, ANSI A208.2, and CARB ATCM 93120 requirements.
How much recycled content is in the steel and aluminum components?
Steel, used for our super studs, averages 19.8% post-consumer and 14.4% pre-consumer recycled content. Aluminum, used for glass wall framing, door framing, and floor tracks, averages 20% pre-consumer recycled content and is backed by our supplier’s industry EPD.
Is the powder coat finish free of restricted chemicals?
Yes. Our powder coating contains no Red List ingredients and is RoHS compliant.
Is the decorative glass certified for indoor air quality?
Yes. Our decorative glass is Clean Air Gold certified through Intertek’s sustainability program and conforms to the CDPH Standard Method v1.2.
Does the LVL used in valances have sustainability documentation?
Yes, our LVL (laminated veneer lumber) holds its own Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).
What is DuraFalk, and has it been tested for air quality?
DuraFalk is a finish option for cladding panels and millwork. It’s been tested to the CDPH Standard Method v1.2 and passes in all three categories.
Do Falkskin and fabric finishes carry the same sustainability credentials?
Sustainability documentation for Falkskin and fabric finishes varies by the specific selection or supplier, since these are chosen per project. Reach out and we can provide documentation matched to your exact selection.
